it’s just so wonderful, i mean. here we have the MALE protagonist of an ACTION show not only making a necklace with a little flower on it for the girl he likes and not feeling any embarrassment over it but also saying “jewelry business? me? WHY THE FUCK NOT?” 

even if its just in jest it is the COOLEST THING EVER and it really struck me when i watched this when i was younger, that this kid just — he either gave no fucks about what the world says gender is supposed to mean or has no concept of it. either way, it was so wonderfully refreshing that i almost couldn’t process it. 

aang tells it like it is, straight-up. in popular culture, men save the world, and women do “~*GIRLY*~” (read that with a HEAVY DOSE of sarcasm and bear in mind that i roleld my eyes when i typed it) shit like make jewelry. 

and aang just straight-up says,

“i dont see why i can’t do both.”

DO YOU KNOW HOW AWESOME THAT WAS??? HOW AWESOME IT STILL IS? seeing a male protagonist embracign things that are typically seen as ‘feminine’ was the most wonderful thing on the face of the planet and realy formative for me and probably one of the most important things i was exposed to growing up. no lie.

It was to kill anyone who came through the door to try and move them or Jet. Hence why he is facing the door.

It’s awesome, because it places the element with the current Avatar last and goes in the order of the Avatar cycle. 

If they made another Avatar series it would likely be Fire, Air, Water, Earth.

Ain’t seen the movie yet but my goodness the Gaang look so… …. … white. Yeah. ;-;

 That’s because all the good guys in the movie (the Gaang) are white. All the bad guys and poor or homeless ”lesser” people in the film are racialized.
