“It bothers me that King Bumi was 112+ but Aang, Sokka, Zuko and Tophall died in their 60s. I just really want to know what happened.”
“Seeing everyone get emotional over the Gaang being dead in Korra makes me feel like a bad fan. For me, the Gaang’s story is over, and if I need to see them again, I can always go back and watch AtLA. I also feel like too many flashbacks would destroy the Korra’s ability to have her own story.”
If Korra was as awesome as the Gaang.. then I would care about her own story.
However, based on the leaks she seems … problematic at best. So I would much rather have more stories about the Gaang. Because they don’t wander around accusing people of oppressing themselves.
“I actually like the live action movie. Okay, it’s really bad compared to the show, I’ll admit that. But lower your expectations a little and watch it again - you’ll see that it’s not as bad as you rant about it being.”
Yes, if you can get past the whole absurd amount of racism thing and the thing where everything is terrible ever. Then it’s a fine film. But don’t you see that you are only finding it to be 103 minutes of I don’t give a shit because you refuse to lower your expectations of not wanting things to be racist and terrible…?
GOSH WE HAVE SUCH IMPOSSIBLE STANDARDS
(both in the sarcastic and lolsob way.)
It is probably because I am always carefully looking out for things to be offended by. I make a choice to be offended because I love it so much.
(Lol. Even my sister, who is not social justice-y at all, was baffled as to the amount of whitewashing. Pretty much every time a character spoke, “But why are you WHITE?!”)

“I didn’t notice until last night that Longshot was readying his bow to put Jet out of his misery after he got injured in Lake Laogai. It makes his death the saddest.”
It wasn’t to kill Jet.
It was to kill anyone who came through the door to try and move them or Jet. Hence why he is facing the door.
“I find the beginning sequence of Avatar: Legend of Korra a little awkward. For three seasons, I have heard the elements in the order of “Water, Earth, Fire, Air”. I cannot physically say them as “Earth, Fire, Air, Water”.”
It’s awesome, because it places the element with the current Avatar last and goes in the order of the Avatar cycle.
If they made another Avatar series it would likely be Fire, Air, Water, Earth.
In short, Avatar treats women like people, no props or symbols, and that makes all the difference.
THIS
reasons you should watch avatar
My son is obsessed with this show right now, good times.
THIS. ALL OF THIS. One of the many reasons why A:TLA will always be one of my favorite shows
Still one of the best shows.
One of my favorite shows of all time.
When I have children I’m not convinced I’ll ever let them watch anything but The Last Airbender. And likely Legend of Korra.
